European Commission supports drug free sport

After publication of the White Paper on Sport in 2007, the European Commission has published its future actions in the field of sport.
The Communication, released in January, provides some clarity on the priorities for EU sport policy. Action is foreseen in areas where challenges cannot be sufficiently addressed at national level alone and recognises that the use of doping substances by amateur athletes poses serious health hazards and calls for preventative action to be prioritised.
The European Commission will aim to support anti-doping networks including networks focusing on preventative measures targeting amateur sport, sport for all and fitness.
Volac welcome this Communication following its long standing relationship with INFORMED-SPORT and its contaminants testing program. As the first raw ingredients supplier to adopt the INFORMED-SPORT standard, Volac see the Communication as a positive step forward in the fight against doping.
